Updates to iPhone games: The Oregon Trail, Fire Emblem Heroes

Welcome to the week! It’s time for our weekly recap of important updates. This time it’s all about Easter, which is suitable because the holiday is coming soon.

Jetpack Joyride: You know Barry Steakfries won’t miss a holiday if he can avoid it. He won’t miss out on a chance to dress up as a pink bunny. Me neither. In Jetpack Joyride, new Easter-exclusive cars, jetpacks and costumes are available. You even receive a complimentary Chocolate S.A.M. The rest, you’ll have to earn. Fashion is a job.

Zookeeper World: No new Easter content in this update for Zookeeper World, which already contains rabbits and an Easter 2022 event. You get horses. Zoo horses. When you’re ready, add them to your zoo, along with some additional décor. There are 25 new courses, a new Zoo Rank, and a new minigame called Super Jumpy coming later this week. Yes, that is a Zookeeper World update.

Tiny Tower: 8 Bit Retro Tycoon: Collect (or purchase) Lucky Wheel tickets to gain new skins and pets. Search for tickets and other incentives in your tower’s Easter eggs. There’s also a new Easter roof, lobby, and elevator, and the complete tower will be decked with Easter decorations for a short period. A lovely Christmas occasion.

The Oregon Trail: Another big update for Gameloft’s superb remake of The Oregon Trail. The prologue has been completely rewritten to help you get started. With the new accessibility features, you may now eliminate event timers and screen shaking, as well as gather animals automatically. There are thirteen new events on the path, including a dog you may pet. Plus new gallery visual filters, music shuffle, and more. I’ve never seen a more deserving UMMSotW winner. Bravo!

Crossy Road Castle: Friends, we were sure to get an Easter combination buster sooner or later. Crossy Road Castle is the combo breaker. Its latest version features five new adventurers, terrifying traps including rolling boulders and molten rivers, and more. Make sure you bring your ticket if you plan to board any airships. If all else fails, adopt the dog’s name. This update is Indiana Jones-inspired. Just to be clear.

Subway Surfers: The Subway Surfers youngsters are back on the road, this time visiting Oxford, the home of many of my textbooks. Honestly, this update is a bit random. You’ve got the Oxford location, the Paris Marathon tie-in, plus Easter things. The new Surfer looks like a rabbit until you examine the hood’s zipper. Maybe a relative of the dreadful Animal Crossing monster. The Rolls Rabbit is a new board. Sure, it’s fancy.

Marvel Contest of Champions: Some evil men want Goldpool’s gold, and it’s up to two Spideys to stop them. Black Cat assists Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099 in their investigation. Is she? Given the event’s name, I doubt Felicia will be on her game this time. That’s not all Black Cat does, but I’ll let you find that. The core experience has been improved with UI changes, bug fixes, and other updates to help you get the information you need.

Toon Blast: Oh, and Toon Blast is doing Easter. Yes, this time’s fifty-level expansion is all about eggs and bunnies. I chose it as this week’s free-to-play matching puzzle game update since I am late for dinner and need to finish this. And I will, friends. I’ll wrap it up.
