Samsung may unveil Galaxy S23 in February

Samsung usually releases its best Galaxy S series phones early in the year, unlike Apple and Google. The company showed off the Galaxy S22 series in the second week of February this year. The Galaxy S21 series came out at the end of January 2021. We think Samsung will stick to a similar release schedule for the upcoming Galaxy S23 series, and a new report says the phones could come out in the first week of February 2019.

South Korean newspaper Chosun heard from a source familiar with Samsung’s plans that the company will announce the Galaxy S23 series at a launch event in San Francisco in the first week of February 2023. Since Samsung flagships go on sale about two weeks after they are announced, the Galaxy S23 series could go on sale as early as February 17.

Even though Samsung hasn’t made any official announcements about its upcoming flagship devices, recent leaks suggest that it will include three phones: the Galaxy S23, the Galaxy S23 Plus, and the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Leaked images of the devices from the last few weeks show that they have a familiar look. For example, the camera module on the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus is the same as the one on the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Reports say that the top-of-the-line Galaxy S23 Ultra will have even more small design changes, such as slightly bigger camera cutouts, a taller metal frame, and sides that are less curved.

In terms of hardware, all three of the Galaxy S23 models should come with Qualcomm’s soon-to-be-released Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Even though the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus might not have any other big changes, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is said to have a 200MP camera that is better than the one on the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus.
