The MediaTek Dimensity 1300 is a 5G-capable chipset that is expected to power the mid-cycle update OnePlus Nord 2T.
A 6nm chip with eight cores, it is made by TSMC. It has four Cortex-A78 cores, one Ultra clocked at 3GHz and three Super clocked at 2.6GHz. The remaining four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores run at up to 2GHz. The GPU is a 9-core Arm Mali-G77 MC9.
The MediaTek Dimensity 1300 appears to be almost identical to the MediaTek Dimensity 1200, and we’ve contacted MediaTek to ascertain any variances. For now, we can claim that it should deliver the same level of performance as the already-excellent MediaTek Dimensity 1200.
The Dimensity 1300 is equipped with a Cortex-A78 “prime” core clocked at 3GHz, as well as three Cortex-A78 performance cores clocked at 2.6GHz. The remaining four cores on this SoC are Cortex-A55 processors clocked at up to 2.0GHz. On the GPU front, it features a nine-core ARM Mali-G77 GPU that supports MediaTek’s HyperEngine 5.0 gaming engine, a significant boost over the Dimensity 1200. According to MediaTek, HyperBoost 5.0 supports AI-VRS graphics improvement, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth Hybrid 2.0, and Bluetooth LE Audio.
Not only that, but HyperBoost 5.0 incorporates the improvements made in HyperBoost 3.0, which debuted with the Dimensity 1200. This features support for 5G voice and data concurrently, as well as a multi-touch enhancement for improved touchscreen responsiveness. Additionally, the combined solution enables ray tracing in games and augmented reality applications, as well as power savings via super hotspots. Apart from the upgrading to HyperBoost 5.0, we did not notice any other significant changes.
